The American Academy of CPR and First Aid is an independent organization accredited by the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine, jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide CME/CEU credits.
CPR and First Aid certification requirements vary by state and institutions since no organization exists that provides an endorsement or accreditation to any CPR course provider. Please check with your institution to validate requirements for certification acceptance.

Our courses are designed to be fast and informative, yet comprehensive enough to give you a complete understanding of the required skills, concepts, techniques, and guidelines. Depending on the course, you can expect anywhere from 2-10 hours to complete.
No. The course can be completed at any time. So, you can either take it in intervals, or all at once. You can also take the exam at any point after completing the course material.
The exam will provide a summary of detailed answer explanations for both correct and incorrect answer choices.
Each exam contains 20 questions.
Yes, you can retake the exam if you fail to receive a passing score for the course exam.
CME/CEU certifications require additional steps to receive your certification:
American Academy of CPR and First Aid Certifications: After passing the exam, you can purchase the certification and then you will immediately be able to print your certification and wallet card. You can also request the certificates to be mailed for a low shipping cost. You can also send the digital certification to any email address from your account.
CME/CEU Credit Certifications: After passing the exam, you must complete and submit the course evaluation survey before you are able to purchase your certificate. Once you have purchased your certificate, you can immediately print your certification and wallet card, and you can also request the certificates to be mailed for a low shipping cost. You can also send the digital certification to any email address from your account.
Blanded Hands-on cpr certification: For Hands-on CPR training we only issue digital online certification and we do not send any certification by mail. You can print your certification from your account.
If you lose your certification or wallet card issued by American Academy of CPR & First Aid, Inc., then please login to your account at www.onlinecprcertification.net and click "Replacement Card/Mail". You will be required to pay the shipping cost to receive a replacement certification.
Certificates are valid from the date of issue found on your certification:
Healthcare Provider CPR: 2 years
BLS CPR (Adult/Child/Infant) Certification: 2 years
First Aid Course: 2 years
Adult CPR: 2 years
Bloodborne Pathogens: 1 year
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): 2 years
Certification requirements can be different state-by-state as well as institutions and employers. All of our courses and exams are FREE except ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) course which needs to be purchased first. There is no cost to learn the course material or take the exam. Refund policies for CPR certification
American Academy of CPR and FirstAid, Inc. is currently the CPR certification provider with courses and exams.
Our courses and certifications are accepted by many institutions and organizations throughout USA. Because our courses and exams are free, you and your organization have full access to view and evaluate the materials before purchasing any certificates.
However, if for any reason your American Academy of CPR and FirstAid, Inc. certification does not fulfill the requirements set forth by your organization, we will issue a full refund when you can confirm denial.
To request a refund, please send an email, fax, or post mail to
American Academy of CPR and FirstAid, Inc. within
30 days of payment of your certificate. In your correspondence, please include:
- Your full name
- Email Address
- Mailing address
- Written proof of denial
If you cannot obtain written proof of rejection, please include contact information for the rejecting institution including name, name of the supervisor, phone number, and email address.
