Misjudging kids with ASD
ASD or autism spectrum disorder has features that are associated with social & language problems and the physical feature characteristics are the ones that were known as linked with ASD, which was neglected in the area of study. In contrast to the diagnostic physical changes in other disorders like Down syndrome, the physical attributes seen in ASD are usually understated and they were missed out by some of the clinicians.

The features of kids with ASD

There are also features that were found in ASD patients that were not found in the two hundred twenty four controls that includes, asymmetry of the mouth, asymmetry of the eyes, the lobes of the ear have creases, they have big mouth, few facial expressions only and they have open mouth features.
Though these may be considered as minor physical characteristics only that were common on boys than on girls in the recent study, these were just described in various populace with CNVs. These are alteration of the genome with a full loss of a gene copy, increased of copy or disturbance of a dosage sensitive gene. On the other hand, they have noted that the features can truly help in knowing the related subgroups for more studies.
